

The Mission
To change the perspective on physical health in our community by shifting away from "lifespan" and toward "healthspan".
In terms of physical health, even being above-average is not good enough, considering average, in our society, is obese and severely deconditioned.
Gym Rat strives to educate and promote "healthspan" in our work. This is different from lifespan in that healthspan is the period of time in which we are deemed healthy; not just "alive."
Medicine is great at keeping us alive once disease presents, but those last 10 years are too often spent in a chair, or bed, and in pain. We need to get away from thinking this type of aging is "normal" because it isn't.
Medicine does not yet prevent disease. The only proven way to maximize our healthspan is to address our physical and emotional health early in life, and maintain that focus through adulthood. It's never too late to make the change. The sooner you start, the more compounding the benefits will be.

Whether working on sport performance for competition, or just to improve physically for the game of life, our approach is the same. Meeting you at the level you're currently at and assisting your journey toward your goals!
Rehab Like an Athlete
Our bodies take a beating on a daily basis. If you don't take the time to adequately recover, that stress can accumulate, predisposing the body to injury. It's just like working out. Recovery is essential to physical health.
